The officer who was injured in the shooting on Emory University's campus in Atlanta is dead, Interim Chief Greg Padrick of DeKalb County Police Department said. He died of his injuries from a gunshot wound, Padrick said.

A police officer was killed after authorities say an active shooter opened fire near the CDC headquarters and Emory University's Atlanta campus.

The Atlanta Police Department said an active shooter near Emory University is dead and one officer was killed in the incident.
