This is the server-side version of PowerPivot and works in conjunction with SQL Server 2008 R2. PowerPivot workbooks can be published using Excel Services for dynamic access via Sharepoint.

Some SQL gurus might disagree, and I wouldn't argue the point heavily, especially if you didn't plan on reading all the resulting rows (though why?).
