August 8 - The Texas Rangers activated first baseman Jake Burger from the 10-day injured list Friday. Burger has missed 20 games since being placed on the injury list on July 13 with a left quadriceps injury he sustained two days earlier while running out a grounder during the top of the fifth inning in a 7-3 win over the Houston Astros.

The Rangers activated Burger prior to Friday’s series opener against the Philadelphia Phillies at Globe Life Field.

The Texas Rangers first baseman feels good physically, but both he and the team agree more work is needed before he can be activated.
