The first release Roblox, initially called Dynablox, was started in 2004 by Baszucki and Erik Cassel, an engineer who had worked at Knowledge Revolution. It wasn’t alone.

But Roblox has started dabbling with branded content, allowing companies like Warner Bros., Netflix and Marvel to market their products through virtual experiences.
