To use structured references within your table, as in the example above, you first need to add some data to your Excel worksheet, with column names included across the top of this data.

Cells in Excel are referred to using relative or absolute references. A formula with relative references changes when the cell's position does.

Functions include the RATE () function, which calculates the interest rate, and the PRODUCT () function, which returns the product of numbers or cell references.
