As a new school year begins in L.A., community members and LAUSD work to protect students and their families against the threat of ICE.

A group of teachers, in collaboration with the community organization Union del Barrio, is launching "teacher patrols" to protect students from potential ICE raids.

More than 4,000 people have been arrested across the region since June and it’s still unclear how the threat of detention may impact whether students show up to school and if they do, what type of support they might need.
